1. The Vanishing - AKA Spoorloos (1988)
This one was chosen by our team of 1,000 movie fanatics because it has the best horror and climax scene of all times (When Rex Hoffman figures out how he lost his girlfriend).
If you want to watch this one, don't do it by yourself and DO NOT tell your friends to do it neither. A company of at least 3 people is adviced. Ironically, the remake is probably THE worst horror movie of all times.
So forget the remake, but then again, if you want to watch this prepare yourself to be traumatized for the rest of your existance.

8. The Haunting (1963)
Forget the date of the movie. Director Robert Wise does a fantastic job. Eventhough the special effects could be better, this piece of art will have your heart bouncing the entire way.
This one exceeds by far the stupid 1999 remake (which was pathetic really). In the movie there was a skeptical guy named "Luke", he didn't believe in all the paranormal activity deal, he was proven wrong in a way he would never expect and after you are done with the movie you won't be sure what to believe in neither.

If you don't want to sleep for a week this movie is a must.

10. The Exorcist (1973)
This amazing movie is a timeless classic, who would've thought William Peter Blaty's book could've been translated into this beatiful horror.
Anyone, no matter the age or the day they were born will jump a few times and hide under the sheets after this one.
Great special effects and thrilling suspense, even in the first version. The enhanced version makes the quality even better. Thumbs up for Director William Friedkin.
